Visitors to the Czech Embassy are welcomed in a new glassed hallway (winter garden) which penetrates the garden grounds. After demolishing several partitions, the architect created several spaces with corner mirrors to enlarge the limited space.
The rooms are simply furnished with tailor-made individual pieces. S. Picek designed not only the inlaid wooden doors, but several pieces of furniture as well, including an oval dining room table made of birch, mahogany and ebony.
The spiral theme of the table is repeated in the custom-made carpeting, and together with the artwork, unites the rooms in a unique colour scheme. The nobility of materials and lighting create an atmosphere of comfort and style.
